When you have a great product and if you’re a good marketer, you just want to get the whole world to see it. At least, that is the first step to getting everyone in the world to consider buying your product - that’s simple marketing principle.

Now what happens when you have a smartphone with really “tall specs” and you need the world to notice it? TECNO’s thinking; just launch the smartphone on the world’s tallest building, the Burj Dubai also known as the Burj Khalifa.

A PR stunt or a bold statement from a mobile tech giant?

Let me start by saying that a lot of reviewers agreed; I agree - that TECNO has a fantastic flagship in its new TECNO Phantom6. I have seen the flagship’s specifications and I can tell you that they are better upgrades than what you see in most high-end smartphones out there.

But (and I stress) it is kind of hard to tell if the Burj Khalifa launch buzz for the TECNO Phantom 6 is a PR stunt or just an honest move by a high-end brand, living up to its public image. Let’s really look at the Phantom 6 critically, is it worth the buzz?

A quick glance at some of the specifications we expect to find on the TECNO phantom 6 or its variant, the Phantom 6+:
