Tracing the Flagship journey.
Since the release of the first device in the TECNO Phantom series, the Phantom line has enjoyed tremendous success, largely due to the top-of-the line specs and premium experience it delivers to its users.
The sixth generation of the Phantom flagship is presently cooking in the oven, and we can't help but look back at the past and draw parallel lines between the previous TECNO Phantom flagships and the new ones.
TECNO has truly come a long way indeed, and we can only be excited about what's coming. So, without further ado, let's explore the evolution of one of the most successful Android-powered smartphone line-up so far:
TECNO Phantom A+ (F7)
The very first TECNO Phantom was announced in 2013 and it quickly became clear that TECNO had a best-seller in the cards.
Specs wise, the Phantom A Plus is equipped with Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean), 1.2GHz Quad-core CPU with 1.0GB RAM. The device also flaunted an Ultra-large screen and a super slim body that is concise and elegant.
The Phantom A plus was not a perfect phone by any means, as it had certain issues and quirks, but regardless, it is one of the most notable phones in TECNO's history and undoubtedly among the best phones of 2013.
Tecno Phantom A2 (F8)
The second flagship in the TECNO Phantom series, the Phantom A2 (F8), had the tough job of repeating the success of the Phantom A+. Spoiler alert, it did. The Phantom A2 was one of the fastest phones in the world at the time. It came with an immensely speedier hardware and vastly improved Super display in comparison with its predecessor.
TECNO Phantom A3
If the Phantom A2 had a tough job of making a name in the market, it's safe to say that the TECNO Phantom A3 had to accomplish a true feat. The public's expectations for the third Phantom flagship were quite high, as it was expected to pack enough hardware to sit atop the Android food chain at that time.
Well, it met at least one of the huge expectations in its hardware. The device stomached a 1.5GHz Quad-core processor, 8.0MP AF front and 13.0MP back camera with BSI sensor, a bigger 6.0” HD IPS touchscreen plus 16GB/1GB memory, all specs which made the device the hero of the day.
TECNO Phantom Z
So, hold the image of the TECNO Phantom A3 in your mind for a moment and imagine a classier device; with slimmer profile, more powerful hardware and practically better in every way – that device will be the TECNO Phantom Z.
An Octa-core flagship handset, Phantom Z had an outstanding performance on both appearance and hardware. Its 5.2-inch screen with 1920×1080 resolution made use of the latest AMOLED screen technology to ensure high pixel density and high contrast ratio.
The Phantom Z perfectly fused high performance and low power consumption with a sleek and compact design reflecting its exquisite craft. The flagship device once again delivered on reshaping the experience Tecno Mobile offered its users.

TECNO Phantom 5
With the Phantom 5, TECNO really stepped up its design game. The handset was TECNO’s first flagship to wear a full metal unibody with a 3000mAh irremovable battery.
In every other way, the TECNO Phantom 5 was a substantial evolution step. A specs monster no matter where you look, the handset was no slouch in the hardware department. Software-wise, it showed us that when TECNO wills something, it's more than capable of achieving it.
The Phantom 5 came equipped with a highly responsive finger-print security lock, a dedicated audio chip and Dolby Digital powered sound delivering high density, noiseless and lossless audio, amongst many other cool features.
TECNO Phantom 6 & 6+
Purported images of the new Phantoms
The newest addition to the Phantom line-up is still cooking in the oven and is meant to launch sometime in September, 2016. But, with all the gossips floating around, the Phantom 6 will be launched with a 6+ model - something different from TECNO Mobile.
According to reports, the devices will be the best smartphone release this year. They are rumoured to grace unconventional features and have been labelled by some industry experts as the “device from the future”.
Well, I wouldn’t disagree with them because only a few smartphones would boast a battery capacity of more than 4000mAh inside a slim body measuring between 6-7mm
Processor wise, the devices is rumoured to be coming with something so swift, it will upset the present status quo.
