The Reds travel to Stamford Bridge this evening to face Chelsea in the Friday night Premier League Football clash. The last time Liverpool visited Chelsea Mourinho was still in charge of the Blues, back in October 2015 and Liverpool managed to swiftly beat Chelsea 3-1 at Stamford Bridge.
Philippe Coutinho scored a brace before Christian Benteke came on from the bench to make it three in 83rd minute. Chelsea’s only goal was scored by Ramires early in the 4th minute. He is currently playing for the Chinese side Jiangsu Suning
Chelsea however, has since changed after the arrival of former Juventus manager Conte and this will be his first big game in England. In their first four games, Chelsea has won three and drew one against Swansea last weekend. They sit second with 10 points behind Man City on top with maximum points from four games in the League so far.
Liverpool on the hand is currently number 6 on the table with seven points from four games after beating defending Champions Leicester last weekend 4-1. Liverpool coach Klopp enjoys playing against big teams and Liverpool’s problem ever since his arrival has been mid-table teams, not big teams. The Reds’ managed to score four goals against Arsenal in the opening of the league but, also conceded three goals in the same match.
If Liverpool can defend better, they can be assured of winning games like these. The reds look extremely brilliant going forward with the likes Mane, Firmino and Coutinho, now with Origi and Sturridge all fit to play you think Liverpool is in better shape.
Liverpool’s new Dutch signing Wijnaldum has also improved Liverpool’s temple in the midfield and his hunger to reach the 18 yards box will soon give birth to some goals written beside his name and tonight, he can be the difference for the Reds side.
The visitor’s defense however, are aware of Chelsea’s lead striker Diego Costa who has scored four so far. Two of those against Swansea last weekend. Eden Hazard and Oscar have also enjoyed a good start in the hands of the new manager and Liverpool’s shaky defense can fall victim any minute but, Liverpool’s new Cameroonian Center back Joe Matip is well briefed on the hostile history between both Costa and Liverpool players and the two clubs.
Liverpool will continue scoring goals, the only test is if they can defend a little better, then, Conte will taste his first Premier League defeat at home this evening.
